I love producing DIY events that bring folks together in community, especially when the arts are the vehicle for connection. I began producing The Newness Chicago back in 2019 and after a five year hiatus, brought it back for its second iteration in 2025. The Newness is a monthly artist salon of 8-10 curated acts of a variety of forms, the only request is that the work be new or never performed before. I have worked with scores of artists in this capacity, giving rise to new work, fearlessness, authenticity, and community in the city of Chicago. The show runs every third Tuesday of the month at My Buddy’s Chicago in Ravenswood.
The Newness was the effort that connected me to Brian Loevner of BLVE Consults back in 2019. What began as an “Assistant to the Producer” position has since blossomed into a professional, collaborative force in the arts and culture nonprofit sector, leading change and advocating for innovative ideological models of operation and funding both in Chicago and Toronto.
In grad school, I took a deep interest in new media and immersive experiences, writing my cumulative thesis titled Immersive, Story-Driven Experiences: How Story and Environment Design Inspire Engagement. It can be viewed HERE. I am eager to expand my producing repertoire to include more exhibition, event, and experience design work, particularly at the intersection of art and science. 🧪🎨
